Firefighters honoured for saving City Treasures
The lovely interior of the Col-
lege of Arms Library
Firefighters attending the Fire at the Royal College of Arms
building in February 2009.
They not only saved the building but rescued all the precious re-
cords of Arms pertaining to the City Livery companies as well as
the important pedigrees and designations of many families across
the UK.
“...Eight fire engines and around 40 firefighters
currently are tackling a blaze at a six storey of-
fice building on Queen Victoria Street in the
City. "Parts of the third and fourth floor are
currently alight”…..."Fire crews from Dowgate,
Islington, Clerkenwell, Soho and Euston are
attending the incident."
