A message from the
Clerk
As we are all aware, this is a
busy time for the Company
with the Master’s initiative,
the presentation of the Royal
Charter, the Massey Shaw
Dinner and Meet the
Firefighters events all coming
up very quickly.
In addition, the next major
City event is that of the
United Guilds Service, which
is a fascinating insight to the
pageantry of the Livery
Movement and one not to be
missed. Contact the Clerk’s
office for more information.
The Company is trialling a
new communication method
using Mailchimp, so if you
see something from them,
please have a look. We still
do have some email
addresses that are bouncing
back, and would like to have
a 100% send and receive, so
if you know someone is
missing emails from the
Company, please alert us.
Steven Tamcken. clerk
major event over which the
Master presides and the
Master would certainly
appreciate as many members
being there as possible to
support himself and his wife
Lyn. Please book directly
through the web-site or let the
clerk know.
Ladies Day Out
The ladies and some of their
partners enjoyed a day out in
the City of London on
Monday 16th February , with
a tour of the Mansion House,
followed by tea on HQS
Wellington. The tour of the
Mansion House included a
trip into the vaults to see
some rare Mayoral treasures.
A quick walk through the rain
ended with some warmth on
board this historic ship which
saw action at Dunkirk and
rescued over 450 naval
seamen.
Charter. This, as many of you
will know, was recently
approved by Her Majesty the
Queen. This very prestigious
function in the Company’s
history will take place at the
Insurance Hall commencing at
11.00am on Friday 27th
February 2015
Meet the Firefighters
In addition to the Massey Shaw
dinner on 4th March, we also
have a "Meet the Firefighters"
event on 6th March, 11-30 at
Winchester House. Claire
Mansi is co-ordinating this
event - if you know of a
prospective member, who
would like some information
and perhaps could attend this
event please let Claire or the
clerk know.
The Master's Initiative
The Master has organised a
meeting at the East India club
for Thursday 19th February (7
pm) to progress greater
knowledge within the Company
of the activities of the various
offices and committees of the
Company in order to encourage
a broader participative
approach by members to the
Company. Hopefully, report on
this meeting will be circulated in
the next newsletter.
