The Worshipful Company of Firefighters' Livery
Dinner
On 27th January, the Livery Dinner was held in the East
India club. Peter Hopkins reports that he always makes a
point of attending this dinner over other functions as it
really allows him to catch up with fellow livery members in
a lively, convivial and relaxing atmosphere, despite the
formal wear. The meal is always excellent and there are
good opportunities to talk and learn from fellow diners
about personal and livery activities. It was from the dinner
last year that Peter learned from members of London Fire
Brigade of the special WW1 celebrations at Ypres last
year. This year, he had the chance to sit with the Beadle,
John Norris, who had persuaded Peter to join the
Company many years before, so a good chance to catch
up with him over port. Peter highly recommends members
to put the event into their diary for next year.
