

The annual golf day and match
against the Painter-Stainers was
greatly enjoyed - the
Firefighters won the match and
John Sherington, on the right,
won the Firefighters trophy.
Once again , the Fire Industry
Charity Ball was a great success with
almost 200 people attending and the
event raising over £15,000 for the
Charitable Trust.
On the occasion of the St. Florian’s Installation Banquet, the
Master, Professor David Bland, presented the Worshipful
Company of Firefighters’ Award to the United Kingdom
International Search and Rescue team that was deployed to
Haiti after it had been ravaged by earthquakes in January 2010.
The WCoFF’s Award was presented to Neil Fritzsche,
Response Manager from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service,
seen above with Sir Ken Knight and Peter Holland, President of
CFOA, who had recommended the award to the team.
On 2nd November, the Worshipful Company of Firefighters was
delighted to present an “Exclusive Dinner” with Sir Ken Knight in the
prestigious Adam Room at the Lloyd’s building. Sir Ken gave an
overview of various issues facing the firefighting community at the
present time and then invited and answered some penetrating questions.
