LECTURE
High Rise Fires - High Rise not High Risk
The Firefighters' Company, in partnership with
Rockwool, hosted a very successful 4th Annual
Fire Lecture at the Insurance Hall on Wednesday
28th May 2014.
The Rt. Hon the Lord Howard of Lympne, CH
QC attended and made an opening address.
James Cleverly, Chairman of the London Fire and
Emergency Planning Authority introduced Jones
Yeung FSMSM FIFireE, Chief Fire Officer and
Assistant Director (HK Island) HKFS and Ron
Dobson CBE QFSM FIFireE Commissioner of the
London Fire Brigade, who examined the levels of
protection and preparedness associated with the
risk of fire in high-rise buildings.
An appreciative audience posed a few challenging
questions of the speakers at an open forum.
Peter Holland CBE OStJ QFSM FIFireE, Chief
Fire & Rescue Advisor to her Majesty's
Government, made a closing address on behalf of
the Minister, Brandon Lewis MP, who was unable
to attend. The Master and Wardens brought the
evening to a close with presentations to guests
and the delegates joined them for a buffet
reception.
