Page Background

With effect from April 2004, it

is possible for any individual

who completes a self assess-

ment tax return to request

that the Inland Revenue

places any resulting refund of

tax paid that may then be-

come due over to a registered

charity . If you are in a posi-

tion where you anticipate

receiving a small refund of

tax, and are contemplating

donating that refund to char-

ity, you may wish to know that

The Worshipful Company of

Firefighters’ own Charitable

Trust is a possible recipient of

such donations. The Trust

already has the Inland Reve-

nue pre-approval code num-

ber of XAL08AG in place.

Further details of how the

scheme operates can be

found on The Inland Reve-

nue’s own website should you

require it.

This scheme is entirely sepa-

rate from The Gift Aid

Scheme that most members

have already signed for in

context of that portion of their

annual fees paid to the Com-

pany, which are then auto-

matically allocated to The

Firefighters’ Charitable Trust

on your behalf .No action in

that regard is therefore nec-

essary as the arrangements

you have already consented

to will remain unaltered .

I S S U E 5

I thank you God, sin-

cerely

For the friends that are

here today

And All that they have

done for me

To help me on the way

I thank you that I met

them

In fellowship and Cheer,

Over these last 12

months there have

been a range of

friends and col-

leagues whom have

passed on.

At a recent friends

funeral Liveryman

Graham Maltby read

the following

And that in time of

need and stress

They have always been

near.

I thank youf or my faith-

full Friends,

In places near and far

Whose kindly deeds

have made my days,

As fruitful as they are!

Whose happy songs have

done so much,

To make my dreams

come true,

And who, by their exam-

ple Lord

Have drawn me close to

you

Amen
