City Dinner

Lord Mayor’s show

The Worshipful Company of Firefighters Awards,

made in conjunction with CFOA, were awarded

to UK-ISAR teams that responded to the

emergency in Japan and to the emergency in

Christchurch New Zealand.

CFO Roy Wilsher accepted the award on behalf

of the team he led to Japan and Station Manager

Mark Coleman accepted the award on behalf of

the New Zealand team.

The awards recognised the courage, initiative and

professionalism that such teams put to

humanitarian actions on behalf of the world-wide

community, their presence being so important

for the morale of local residents and fire fighters

suffering devastation.

The Worshipful Company of Firefighters held a

City Dinner hosted by Sir Ken Knight CBE QFSM

DL, head of UK Fire and Rescue policy within the

Government. The dinner was sponsored by the

insurance Group Caitlin and was in support of

the Charitable Trust Fund of the Company of

Firefighters.

The dinner was well attended and very much

enjoyed by those attending who learned more

about the background of policy-making within

the Fire and Rescue arena.

The Master and the Worshipful Company of

Firefighters led the modern companies parade at

the Lord Mayor’s show. Master Peter Cowland

was most prominent in the parade riding his

beloved Harley.

The Master and Wardens

wish all Members of the

Worshipful Company of

Firefighters and their friends

a very merry Christmas and

a happy New Year
