LUNCHEON

At

the Court Meeting on

Friday

7th

July 2006,

the Court

extended membership

to

the

following:

Dr Moore

is Director of Technology

for Kidde

Plc

and

is

also Chairman of

the BFPSA

(British

Fire Protection

Systems Association).

He

is

Physical

Sciences

graduate

from

the University of

Surrey where

he was

awarded

a PhD

for

his

work on

the propagation

and

suppression of

gas

and dust

explosions.

Paul

is Chief Executive Officer of Kingfell which

he

formed

in 1995.

Kingfell provides

its

clients

with

a

comprehensive

concept

to

commissioning

range of

fire

safety

services.

Paul

has been

Chairman of

the British

Standard Committee,

Actuation of

Fire Protection

and was

the

author

of BS 7974, Detection of

Fire

and Activation of

Fire Protection

Systems.

The 2006 Partners Luncheon was

held

at Le

Saint

Julien Restaurant

in Long Lane, EC1, on

Wednesday 7th

June.

Some 20 members

and

their partners

enjoyed

an

excellent menu,

good

company

and

conversation. Thanks

go

to

Liveryman Trevor Barnwell

for organising

this

annual

event.

At

the Court meeting on

Friday 7th

July 2006 Geoff Turpin

received

the

Freedom of

the

Worshipful Company of

Firefighters. Geoff

can be

seen

here with

the Master

and Wardens.

CAPTION CORNER

The Caption Corner Competition

in

Salamander

No 7 brought

in

a

good

number of

entries

and

after due

consideration,

the Editor

and Deputy

Editor decided

that

the

clear winner was Court

Assistant Neil Botten whose

entry was:

“Teacher

said

I would

go

to

the

top

of

the

ladder

one

day

but

I

didn't

quite

expect

this!”
