COMMON HALL

2006

Common Hall

this

year

took

place on

Friday 7th

July

at

the

Wax Chandlers' Hall. A

fair

gathering of members

and

guests

were

present

to

hear

the Master,

Upper Warden

and Clerk

present

their

reports

for

the

previous

year. These

all

showed

that

the Company

had

continued

to make

steady

progress

and was

also

gradually

enhancing

its

reputation

amongst

the other

Livery Companies

and

institutions

in

the City.

The New Master, Martin Coffey, duly made

his

declaration

and was

invested with

the Master’s

Jewel

and

gown. The Master's Chain was

weighed

and

found

to be of

the

correct weight

and was placed on

the New Master’s

shoulders.

Viv

Jones,

the

new Upper Warden,

James Blott,

the

new Renter Warden

and Geoff Morgan,

the

new Under Warden, made

their declarations

and

received

their badges of office.

Following Common Hall,

the Master, Wardens,

members

and

guests processed

from Wax

Chandlers’ Hall

to

the

church of

St Mary-le-Bow

in Cheapside

for

the

service of Re-dedication. At

the

end of

the

service

everyone was

invited

to

enjoy

a buffet

and

a

few

glasses of wine

and

an

opportunity

to mix

informally.
