Incoming Master and Consort’s Vision
On a historic summer’s day at Common Hall, 4 July 2025, Andrew Phillips JP stood proudly before St Mary‑le‑Bow, the ancient bells ringing in celebration, as he was ceremonially presented with the chain of Master. By his side was Consort Diane, whose unwavering support and shared commitment to service promises to shape the Company’s path forward.
In his Installation Address, Master Phillips painted an inspiring picture – one that honours old tradition while embracing the boundless possibilities of tomorrow.
“Our strength lies in unity—the unity of diverse backgrounds, experiences and ideas. Together, we will expand our reach, innovate our practices and champion fire‑safety across every community we serve. In every corner of this great City and beyond, we will stand ready, united by purpose and driven by compassion.”
Our Vision for Tomorrow
Guided by Master Phillips and Consort Diane, the Worshipful Company of Firefighters is poised to evolve into a modern, inclusive institution that leads by example:
- Collaborative Symposiums: By convening experts across fire service, technology and community safety sectors, we will foster dialogue that sparks ground breaking solutions and best practices.
- Youth Engagement: In partnership with the UK Fire Cadets and local schools, we will mentor young enthusiasts and inspire tomorrow’s guardians of safety.
- Cultural and Civic Presence: We will celebrate our rich heritage through public lectures, exhibitions and digital archives—while championing diversity by welcoming members from all walks of life, irrespective of background or identity.
Upcoming Event: Escape the Tower
This autumn, join us for a light‑hearted yet impactful fundraiser: Escape the Tower. On 2 September, Master Phillips and guest Consort Diane Albiston will be playfully “incarcerated” in the Tower of London’s historic walls. With your pledges and donations, they’ll secure their freedom—and every pound raised will support the British Red Cross’s humanitarian efforts.
