UKISAR team undertakes its UN re-accreditation

During our Fire Lecture it was noted that the UKISAR team was due to undertake its UN re-accreditation during November. This external appraisal by the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) has just been completed. It took place over three days under arduous, snow-covered, conditions in a mountainous area in Switzerland. Two national teams took part, the UK and Spain, and both teams passed. Of special note though was that the UK team achieved the highest combined score for a heavy rescue team ever awarded by an international panel of assessors.

The Worshipful Company of Firefighters congratulates all those involved in gaining this magnificent achievement - the units from the Fire & Rescue Service, HM Government Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the supporting structural engineers, doctors and vets.
