On Tuesday 3rd October the Company held a 'Meet the Firefighters' event at St.Vedast alias Foster Church. The primary guests were members of the Guild of Young Freemen, led by their amiable Master, Sam Chadd.

It proved to be a very enjoyable evening with many of our own members taking the time to travel into the City to host the event. 

 

Unfortunately the Master, Graham Woodhouse, was unable to attend due to Covid. The immediate Past Master, Stephen Sanders, adroitly stepped in and following on from the initial welcome went on to give a most informative talk on the history of the Company. 

He was followed by our Finance Manager & Assistant Clerk (FMAC), Geoff Fall, who gave an explanation primarily on Quarterage and Fines.

 

The Chair of the Membership Committee, Robert Bryant, stepped in for Matt Stokes, New Member Support liaison officer, with a brief explanation of the Support Programme that can be expected once in the Company.

 

Finally, Prof. David Holt, Upper Warden, went on to inform all present about the promising future that we, in the Company, can look forward to. 

 

It was then time for all present to gather in the courtyard, where a light buffet, accompanied by the 'odd' bottle of wine, was served.
