One-day course on basket making

At the invitation of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers the Mistress Firefighter Lesley Mansfield recently attended a one-day course on basket making at the Dutch Church, Austin Friars, in Broad Street Ward. After instruction and some basket making using wicker, all present were entertained with an excellent lunch and afternoon tea. It was a splendid day although, Lesley suspects she might struggle to make a living from her new skill, being just too slow compared with the professionals.
