St. Paul’s

Company to keep any increase in

its finances to a minimum.

I am sure that once we have

settled in to our new home and

with our new landlords, it is

the hope of all, not just those

involved in our relocation, that

Wax Chandlers’ will become a

long-term home, much like the

Insurance Hall has been.

It would be remiss of me not to

mention our Committees, and that

they would always welcome “new

blood”. So if you feel that you

have a skill that you feel would be

of use to the various Committees,

please contact the Chairman, I

am sure that they would be only

to glad too hear from you.

It is a great way to become

involved in the workings of the

Company, getting to know your

fellow Firefighters, and breathe

new life and ideas into the

Committees.

In closing, I have already thanked

the outgoing Master and Mistress,

and I would now like to take the

opportunity of wishing The Master

Designate, Andrew Mayes and

his lovely Wife Carol, all the

best for their year as Master and

Mistress Firefighter and promise I

will do my best to assist and help

them during their tenure.

Finally, and as I always reiterate

at the end of my report, it has

been an HONOUR to be your

Clerk, and to be of SERVICE to

you all. Your FRIENDSHIP, has

as always, been appreciated and

I am sure that the HARMONY

with in the Company will continue

for years to come.

Members all, here is to the

continuedhealthofTheWorshipful

Company of Firefighters, may

it flourish Root and Branch –

Forever.

Thank you.

Bill was a fairly new member to

the Company and joined in March

2017 and took his Freedom in

September of that year and his

Freedom of the City in November.

I met him briefly, and he was

very knowledable in books and

printing requirements and was

invited to join the PR & Marketing

Committee.

Bill came to us via his links with

the Western Front Association for

whom he was currently serving as

Chairman of their Essex Branch.

Bill was much respected and will

be sadly missed by us all.
