 Company Bereavements
  The Lord Bramall was one of the long serving Honorary Freemen of the Company, having been made an Honorary member of the Guild of Firefighters in 1990, and due to pressure of work, finally became an Honorary Freeman of the Company at the ninth meeting of the Court in February 2003.
The highly-decorated veteran passed away on 12th November 2019, aged 95 at his home in Crondall, Surrey.
 3 on the list, can I urge all of our Freemen to look into this if they have not already taken their Freedom of the City.
As always, the Company is looking for members to come forward and to take it into the future, this can be done by becoming involved in the workings of the Company on the Committees etc., if you feel that you have some skills that may assist the Company, please contact the Chairman in the first instance, their names are recorded in the Magazine, I am sure that they would be pleased to hear from you.
Finally, may I wish you and your families a wonderful , happy and peaceful festive period, I look forward to seeing and hearing from you all in 2020, and as the Comedian Dave Allen used to say “May your God go with you”
Liverymens’ Dinner 2020
Wax Chandlers Hall
After this year’s successful dinner with approximately 50 liverymen attending, 2020 will see the Worshipful Company of Firefighters holding their annual dinner (for Company Liverymen Only), at our new home of Wax Chandlers’ Hall, (with the kind permission of the Master Wax Chandler and the Court.)
As you are aware, this now means that the dinner will be held in the City and therefore can be known as the Firefighters Liverymens’ Dinner, rather than a Dinner for Liverymen.
The move to the Wax Chandlers’ gives both the Company the ability to offer, and the Liverymen the increased opportunity to be able to attend this important event in our Company year, as the Great Hall can seat up to 70.
The evening will, as usual, consist of a sparkling wine reception in the Court Room, followed by a three- course dinner with wines and finishing with port & coffee, to be held in the Great Hall.
The cost of the evening at this prestigious location will be £105.00 Inc VAT per person.
The timing for the evening will be 7.00pm for 7.30pm start and will finish at 10pm approximately; this should allow most Liverymen to be able to get home in good time;
Dress code will be Black Tie (with decorations) for Gentlemen and the equivalent for Ladies.
We look forward to seeing you.
