LFB Fire Cadet Awards

LFB Fire Cadet Awards

On October 11 the LFB Community Fire Cadets Awards Ceremony, for the Cadet voted the top student in their group, took place in the Great Hall of the Wax Chandlers’ Hall.

Our Master, Frances Blois, introduced the event and Upper Warden Graham Maltby, Chairman of our Charitable Trust, gave a brief overview of the involvement of the Trust in supporting the Cadet movement in London.

Certificates and prizes were awarded to nine of the 11 prize winners who were able to attend. The two remaining certificates and prizes were collected on behalf of the candidates by Nikki Rees – Fire Cadet Team Leader and Alfie Green – Fire Cadet Coordinator. Alfie Green also spoke about his experiences in the LFB Cadets and his ambition to join the LFB, and we also heard from Scott Lovelock – Deputy Youth Engagement Manager, about the organisation and scope of the Cadets.

After the ceremony refreshments were provided and there was time for the prize winners and their relatives to speak with members of the Company to learn a little more about our objectives and those of the Charitable Trust.

The picture shows those involved in the presentations. The certificates were inscribed “In recognition for OUTSTANDING achievement and commitment to the Fire Service and the Community”. More pictures will be available on our Facebook and Flickr pages in due course.
